A decade together!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been ten years.
In October 2025, James and I embarked on an adventure. We were driving from Maryland to Florida for a five night cruise, we were also looking at houses in the Winter Haven area to move to. Just hours before we got on the ship, he asked me to marry him, and that cruise was now our engagement cruise (which ended up being perfect as we ended up at a table with two couples who just got married, and another couple celebrating their anniversary).
That November, we moved into our new house in Florida.
We planned to get married the following October, but plans were quickly not working out to how we wanted so we changed them. Instead of getting married in October, we picked January. 21 days after James’s birthday and 21 days before mine.
So on January 21st, we both took the day off of work, went the the court house in Winter Haven and tied the knot. Went home, changed our clothes, and drove to International drive. We spent the day together. Lunch, and escape room, and WonderWorks. Unconventional, yes. Unique to us, also yes. Next day, went to work.
But that’s how our marriage started. We’ve had our ups and down. We’ve moved (a lot!) We’ve settled into a place we love now though. We bought new cars, gone on countless adventures.
Thank you James for putting up with me for ten years. Thank you for protecting me, caring for me, and always being there when I need you. Ten years with you have been amazing. Crazy at times, but amazing. We are both stubborn as hell, and we annoy each other, but I wouldn’t trade any of it. I am so thankful that our paths crossed. Now let’s aim for ten more years!
Ready for the new year!
