Supernatural Day
Not only is today a very fun day (with Friday the 13th and the harvest moon), but it’s also one of my favorite days of the year. Supernatural day. Fifteen years ago Supernatural first appeared on the CW (WB back then). I watched about five minutes of the first episode before I was done (I’m a chicken). Then I tried to watch another episode and go figure it was the Bloody Mary one. So I decided it wasn’t for me.
Fast forward to 2011 when I decided to try it again. I knew I had to just get past a few episodes. And I did. And I fell in love with the show.
It’s not just the show that I love it’s the family created because of the show. There are many shows out there with their own fandoms. Supernatural’s fandom is a family. It’s a family that I didn’t know I needed until I was a part of it.
Supernatural is more than just a television show. The cast has made sure it’s something bigger. They don’t call us their fandom, they call us their family.
So today we celebrate the start of that family. Today we will celebrate fifteen years of saving people, hunting things, the family business.
Next year we’ll celebrate what we still have even after the show ends because the family won’t end. “family don’t end with blood.”
Happy Supernatural day to my large extended family. <3
