Reviews!

Time for some restaurant reviews! In April my sister came down to Florida for a visit (they stayed in Ponce Inlet at her in-laws condo). So we went to join them for the weekend. I have to say, it was amazing getting away for the weekend.

While there though we went out to eat a couple of times. So here are the reviews for those places!

We were going to go to this place called The Garlic, but the line (20 minutes after they opened) was LONG. So we drove back down the road to this awesome looking treehouse place and we were SO glad we did!

Norwood’s Restaurant & Treehouse Bar (400 2nd Ave E, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169)

This place is about two and a half hours from where we are. I would absolutely drive over there to eat here again. The outside looks awesome (part of it is a treehouse). Inside is just as cool though with multiple levels (kinda like a treehouse). The food and drinks were really good too. James isn’t a huge fan of spinach, but my sister and brother-in-law got Spinach Ricotta Dumplings and they were amazing. James I got stuffed mushrooms and those were amazing as well.
For dinner James got the Cuban sandwich and he said it was one of the best he’s had. I got a Fired Green tomato BLT and wow! I was really surprised.

Our total with two meals, a tea (I had water), a tiki drink, and an app with tip was about $65. Definitely not bad for all we got.

Boondocks Restaurant (3948 S Peninsula Dr, Port Orange, FL 32127)

Alright, so this was our lunch stop for the following day after we took a trip to the Marine Discovery Center. This place is about two and a half hours away too, and I loved their food.

I was a little unsure about eating outside in Florida, because you know, it’s a bit warm. But it wasn’t bad at all (now also, this was in April, not July when there are heat advisories daily).

So James and I both wanted to try the two same items so we each got one and then split them. We got an order of the Boom Shrimp Tacos and the Chicken Sandwich. Both were amazing. I would absolutely go back here just to have food from there. The servings were decent size and the prices weren’t bad at all. I think total with the two meals, soda (water for me), and a drink with tip it was about $40.
