Life,  Whispers of Everything

Happy Birthday Bear!

My baby boy will be SIX years old on the 28th. Six! I remember when we got him. He was eight weeks and four days old. So tiny and happy!

There was a lady that was a temp at the company I worked for (but she had been at the company for a few weeks at that point). She told me that her dog recently had puppies and only two were left. She had someone to take the girl but the boy (Bear) no one wanted and she couldn’t keep him. Now yes, that could have just been a sob story, but I love dogs. Gunner was gone and we had Legacy, Lexi and Fat Cat. We definitely did not need another animal. But we went to go see him.

Immediately Bear perked up seeing us and he was almost glued to me when we were outside. I mean like even if she or James tried to get his attention, he was like, “nope! I’m going over here to this lady!” It was meant to be.

So he was ours. We got in the car, waved goodbye and headed to the pet store to get him a collar, toys and some puppy food.

The next few months were a bit rough. Bear, like any puppy, chewed everything. Because he was still a puppy we opted to lock him in the bathroom so he could potty without making a mess in a crate. Lexi was always crated because she had bad anxiety being left alone.

We also learned a lot of lessons with having a puppy. Like to never, ever give them steak that had been marinated. James had a mess to clean up in the bathroom the next day. (I was driving home).

Bear is most definitely a mama’s boy. Has been from that first day I met him. He’s the one that sits in my office with me while I work. When I’m upset, he’s in my face until I say I’m good. When Legacy died, he was glued to me even more.

He’s still got a ton of energy, but he’s a love bug too. I’m so happy that he picked us to be his humans.

Happy Birthday my amazing boy! <3
